Juicing is one of the four components of the Gerson Therapy®.

The hourly fresh and organic juices are flooding the body with live, active nutrients, eliminating toxins and restoring the cellular function.

On the full therapy, the Gerson Patient drinks 13 x 8oz fresh juices daily:
1 orange, 5 carrot/apple, 4 green and 3 carrot.

Orange Juice

Ingredients for 8 oz / 236 ml Orange Juice:

  • 2 organic oranges

Unlike the other juices for the Gerson Therapy, the orange juice should not be prepared in your two-step juice machine so the skin of the fruit to does not release any aromatic oils, which can interfere with the Gerson Therapy.
Instead of using your PURE Juicer for the morning juice, use a simple manual reamer-style citrus juicer.

In cases of diabetes, arthritis and inflammatory/allergic conditions, Gerson Practitioners often substitute the orange juice for another carrot/apple juice.
(Patients work out their individual protocol with their Gerson Therapy Practitioners.)

Carrot/Apple Juice

Ingredients for 8 oz / 236 ml Carrot/Apple Juice:

Wash and brush the carrots. Do not peel them. Cut the ends of the carrots off.
Wash the apples and remove the stem. Cut the apples and leave the core and the seeds out.
Grind the carrots and apples into the wet pulp while filling the feed tube with carrots and apples. Always rotate your produce, since mixing apples with any vegetable boosts all nutrients above what they measure individually.
Insert the pusher into the feed tube and turn the juicer on. Push the carrots and apples through.

When using a press bag, the wet pulp falls directly into the bag. Fold the bag and transfer it over to the tray. Place the bag in the middle of the tray.

When using a press cloth, the wet pulp falls directly on the open cloth placed on a tray or baking pan. Fold the cloth according to the directions and transfer it over to the tray. Place the cloth in the middle of the tray.
Press and Enjoy!

Green Juice

Ingredients for 8 oz / 236 ml Green Juice:

  • 6-7 big leaves (with stalk) of romaine
  • Red leaf lettuce
  • 2-3 leaves of escarole
  • 2-3 leave of endive
  • 3-4 leaves of red cabbage
  • 2-3 young inner beet tops (inner leaves)
  • 2 leaves of Swiss chard
  • A quarter of a green bell pepper
  • 3-4 leaves of watercress
  • 1 medium green apple, Granny Smith or as sour and hard as possible

Try to include as many of the ingredients as possible and do not substitute.
Add enough of the approved ingredients to end up with an 8 ounce green juice.

Wash all the produce. Cut the apples and leave the core and the seeds out.
Grind your produce into the wet pulp while feeding your produce in the feed tube. Always rotate your produce, since mixing apples with any vegetable boosts all nutrients above what they measure individually.

You can roll up smaller produce into the bigger leaves. Insert the pusher into the feed tube and turn the juicer on. Push the produce through.

Why is the pulp discarded and not used?
Since spinach is a superior super green, can that be the only green used?

      Hi Sharon,
The pulp is discarded because there is no nutrient content left in it. In Gerson Therapy, we give our bodies, easy to digest juice with the hard to digest fiber removed. Our fiber comes from the whole Gerson foods we eat as solid meals.

Spinach, is not a Gerson green so it is not consumed.

    Hello there,

I was wondering if you disassemble and rinse the machine each time you make a juice. Just wondering if there was a faster way because it is suggested to make each juice fresh, and making 8 juices a day and washing the machine seems like alot:)

      Hi Judy,
To properly make the recipe the fiber must be removed.
The theory the Gerson Therapy is based on is that you are providing your body with the building blocks to heal. The reason we juice is to provide the easiest food to digest by removing the fiber. Making smoothies simply converts the produce from solid to liquid but all the hard to digest fiber remains.

Can the mash (grinding) of the vegetables be done beforehand and refrigerated until it’s time to press for juice?

      Hi Nini,

For general juicing, yes. For Gerson Therapy we recommend, follow the program 100% or follow the advice of your Gerson Practioner.

There are two answers to this question, for:
      1. Gerson Therapy, drink the juice immediately and follow the advice of your Gerson Practioner program 100%.
      2. Optimal health juicing, yes it is fine to store the juice. Storage times for raw juice vary from 1-3 days. Greens have the shortest shelf life and carrots and apples the longest.
